Faculty, Warrior Basketball

Travis Wallace (2000) was a four year member of the boys basketball program while at Jennings where he was a 3 year starter and played in TWO final fours during his junior and senior seasons.    Travis went on to play college basketball and earn a degree at Illinois State University.  Travis came back to Jennings in 2010 and served as an assistant basketball coach under Randy Carter, his former high school coach.  In 2012, Travis was selected as the 3rd head basketball coach in a stretch of 75 years.  In 2018, Wallace took the warrior basketball program back to the state final four earning 3rd place with the win over Sikeston, which became his proudest moment as a Warrior.  In a 7 year head coaching run at Jennings, Travis Wallace was able to capture a higher winning percentage than both of the dominating Hal Moore and Randy Carter in their 75 year stretch of coaching warrior basketball by achieving an incredible record of 149 wins and 46 losses while serving as the head basketball coach at Jennings Senior High.  Travis Wallace accepted the head coaching position at the St. Louis private school MICDS for the 2019 season where the Rams earned 23 wins in his first season.  Wallace and his Rams went on to win multiple district championships at MICDS and winning the class 5 state championship in 2026 where Wallace continues to Coach.

Awards: Conference Coach of the Year 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018.   4 District Titles (2014, 17, 18, 19) and State Final Four 2018.

 

Jennings alum Coach Travis Wallace and Coach Thames sat the Pattonville tournament in 2018. The two former Warriors coached a handful of games against each other during their times at those two schools.
