Arthur “Lou” Frazier  (1984) graduated from Jennings in 1984 where he played football, his “favorite sport”, all four years at Jennings Senior High for Coach Hank Barrere.  Arthur also excelled on the basketball court as a member of Coach Hal Moore’s incredible 1983 and 1984 basketball teams, but It was Coach Scott Rendel who saw something special in Arthur as a baseball player and the rest became Arthur Frazier’s history.  Arthur headed to Scottsdale Community Junior College after Jennings before entering Major League Baseball as an outfielder. He played all or part of five seasons in the majors, between 1993 and 1998, for the Montreal Expos, Texas Rangers, and Chicago White Sox. He was primarily a left fielder.

From 2007 to 2008 Frazier was the first base coach for the Pittsburgh Pirates. His duties included working with the Pirates’ outfielders and teaching base-running skills.

Arthur lives in Arizona where he runs a company of personal baseball instruction.  He is known as Lou Frazier to the baseball world, but his friends and family back at home know him as Arthur Frazier, a real Jennings legend.
