Kelly Thames
Inducted 1999
Warrior Basketball
Kelly Thames graduated Jennings Senior High School in 1993. Kelly was an excellent student and All-State Basketball student-athlete while at Jennings. After graduation, Kelly went to the University of Missouri to play for legendary coach Norm Stewart. Kelly was the Big 8 Freshmen Of The Year as his college career began with a bang in 1993 and eventually earning other honors such as Freshman All American and All Big Eight Honorable Mention. Unfortunately, on Sept. 26, 1994, he tore his Posterior Cruciate Ligament while doing conditioning drills before the start of his sophomore year. It has been calculated that if Kelly would not have been injured, he would have helped lead the Tigers to their first ever Final Four appearance, something they have yet to do………along with a bright future in the NBA. Kelly Thames is currently an administrator and Head Basketball Coach at Pattonville High School and coaches his son Kellen Thames, who is a Senior this year (2021) and a recent signee to St. Louis University.

Jennings alum Coach Travis Wallace and Coach Thames at the Pattonville tournament in 2018. The two former Warriors coached a handful of games against each other during their times at those two schools.
