Mrs. Ellen Duvall Bantz worked for the Jennings School District for 23 years (from 1990 to 2013) as a special education teacher. Mrs. Bantz was known to be one of the most successful SSD teachers in our district as she really reached her students. There are many success stories her former students. Mrs. Bantz also took on a role as co-sponsor with the club “TREND” who focused on providing healthy and safe recreational and service activities. The TREND group was inducted into the Hall of Fame at the NCADA. Mrs. Bantz was selected to represent Jennings Senior High School for two years in the Character Education Program. During those years, Mrs. Bantz was able to add a service learning class to JSH courses and stated that she loved her co-teaching classes.
Since retirement, Mrs. Bantz has been subbing part time and volunteering with an elementary school reading program.
