Faculty, Football

Desoto Dickson (1991) put Jennings football on the map…….for what some would say for the first time in the schools history when he rushed for 1825 yards in 1991.  Dickson, who ran behind all metro center Chris Newton, has one of the highest yards per carry averages in the schools history at 8.9 yards per carry on 207 whopping carries….Thus earning first team All-Metro himself.

The 1990 (7 win) Warriors was the best team during the Desoto Dickson years.   After high school, Desoto took a full ride scholarship to Arkansas State and eventually made it back to Missouri where he began his teaching career.  After a stint at St. Charles High, Dickson came back to his alma mater where he taught business classes and coached football and track.   Desoto Dickson has since moved on to Las Vegas Nevada where he is the building principal at Yerington High School.
