Theresa Humble (Kackley)
Inducted 2019
Faculty, Lady Warriors Basketball
Coach Theresa Humble came to the Jennings School District in 1996 and held down the Lady Warrior Basketball program from 2001 to 2019. A Warrior legend who took the Lady Warriors to the final four in 2005, Coach Humble also taught health and PE, coached volleyball and became co-director of attendance for 11 years. Coach Humble was an assistant boys basketball coach for one year before resigning from volleyball and becoming the varsity girls basketball coach in 2001. In 2009, Coach Humble came back to the classroom to teach health and PE. Humble’s favorite memories at Jennings was beating her Alma Mater (Borgia) in the quarter finals to advance to the state final four in 2005. This along with packing the A gym in 2008 vs Berkeley, beating North Tech in the Parkway Central Tournament championship game and her father giving a speech at her last home game at Jennings in 2020.
By the time her career wrapped up, Coach Humble won 303 games with JSH (371 overall), was conference coach of the year 9 times, District coach of the year 3 times, and the longest wining tradition of any girls basketball coach at Jennings……however, It was the bonding and relationships formed with the young women that came through her program that Coach Humble is most proud about.
Currently, Coach Humble is coaching her daughters 12U girls basketball team and enjoying retirement.
