Track

At the time, the 1971 Varsity track team completed the “winningest” season in the history of JSH.  For the first time, the varisty AND the Junior Varsity went undefeated.  As a team, the Warriors placed fourth in Districts, with Bob and Carl Gonzalez placing first and second in the 100 meter dash.  Jim Nieman took second in the 200 and first in the 400 to set a new school record.   Bob Gonzalez took first in the long jump (21’11).  Bob, Carl, Jim, Willie Frey, Ollie Van Beers, and Mike Kinsella represented Jennings in the state track meet in Columbia on May 22 1971.
