Sanijay Watts was one of the most electrifying basketball players to walk our hallways. Sanijay, at 6 feet 2 inches, led the area in rebounds for multiple seasons while at JSH. He still holds the single game scoring record at the Pattonville tournament with 50 points scored on CBC. Sanijay went on to play two seasons for Kim Anderson at State Fair community college in Sedalia Missouri. After the two year stint at State Fair, Sanijay followed Coach Kim Anderson to the University of Central Missouri where the 6’4” senior All-American averaged 20.9 points, 9.3 rebounds while shooting 57 percent from the field. He leads the Mules in all of those categories. He is also shooting 81 percent from the free throw line.In Central Missouri State’s last game, Watts had 33 points and 10 rebounds in a 102-81 victory over LIU-C.W. Post in Las Vegas.
As a junior, Watts led the Mules to a Final Four berth in the NCAA Division II national tournament. He averaged 15.5 points and 6.1 rebounds to lead the Mules.
Watts graduated from Jennings High in 2006 as the school’s all-time leading scorer. As a senior, he was the St. Louis American Player of the Year and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Player of the Year with Borgia’s Alex Moosman, who became a teammate with Watts at CMSU.
